The(22)Studio

is an independent space for audiovisual creation in Barcelona.

A physical space where we experiment, test, make and develop ideas around image, movement, sound, space and their relationship with technology.

We work across disciplines and formats: photography, video, digital art, art direction, live visuals, installation and audiovisual performance.

We work at the point where creation and production meet, integrating the ideas, processes, experimentation and tools needed to take a project from beginning to end. An idea starts as a test, becomes a shoot, develops through a workshop and ends as an installation, an audiovisual piece or a live experience.

The studio is our working tool.

240 m² of open space with natural light, blackout and a professional cyclorama, built for production, experimentation and project development. The space adapts to different scales, equipment and ways of working.

We also develop our own projects within the studio.

Art direction, visual content, moving image and live visuals are at the core of our work, both in our own projects and in collaboration with artists, brands, producers and other professionals.

We explore the relationship between art, technology and audiovisual creation.

We research new tools, technologies and ways of working with image, sound and space, and we integrate them into artistic and audiovisual processes.

Technology is our tool for opening new creative possibilities, generating new processes and exploring new forms of expression.

The(22)Studio is a place for meeting and exchange.

We run workshops, residencies and collaborative projects that connect international artists with local creators.

We create a meeting point for artists from different contexts and disciplines. They work in the studio, share their processes and develop new proposals together with the local creative community.

We build bridges between international artistic creation and Barcelona’s local scene, exchanging knowledge, experiences, tools and ways of working.

Our workshops are spaces to create and experiment together: local artists come into direct contact with contemporary practices, and invited artists discover and work within Barcelona’s creative context

We work with multidisciplinary artists, brands and production teams.

The studio is open to every project that needs a space to create, produce, research or experiment..
